What would you do during a Zombie Apocalypse?

A Childhood memory
I was scared to death of zombies when I was a young child. You see, I had brothers who were several years older than me who would sit in the family room to watch scary movies together. I was always expressly forbidden to watch them because my parents worried I would be too scared. They were right. I used to hide behind a chair, sneak under the coffee table, or even peak through the door crack just to get a look at what was on the screen. Seeing those undead creatures made my skin crawl but I just could not look away. I was fascinated but terrified.
My brothers enjoyed teasing me immensely about horror related things: Sharks being in swimming pools, vampires living in closets, my bedroom floor turning into a portal to a terrifying dimension during the night, and of course zombies hiding in the shadows of dark rooms. To make things more frightening, my bedroom was at the end of a very long hallway with dark rooms either side. I used to sprint from one end of the hallway to the other like my life depended on it. My heart would thump so loudly I thought it would pound right out of my chest. It always felt like I was taking my life into my own hands every time I had to venture down that hallway.
Eventually, me being afraid in my own home was not enough for my brothers anymore and they decided to really scare me. They would hide in shadows and moan as I waked past, or they would reach out of the darkness and touch me on a shoulder or leg. Then, one day, they decided to take it to the next level. I rushed from my bedroom down the hallway to the opposite end of the house to grab a snack. As I reached the kitchen, I saw my eldest brother just standing there, mouth open, eyes gaping at the ceiling. Suddenly, he looked right at me, put his hands up like in a George A. Romero movie, and began to slowly stumble after me as I ran back up the hallway to get away from him. I screamed. As I neared my bedroom, my other brother appeared from one of those dark hallway rooms, arms also up and stumbling.
“Mmmmmm, brains!!” he mumbled. “Braaaiiinnnsss!!!” He shouted louder.
I do not think I have ever run so fast in my life. I bolted into the bathroom and locked the door behind me. Both brothers stood on the other side of the door, banging, moaning and calling for brains, for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, Dad turned up to see what all the noise was about and shooed them away. It took him a further ten minutes to convince me it was safe to come out of that bathroom.
After that day, my brothers continued to play pranks on me and try to scare me. Most of the time they were successful. Then, I really got into horror myself and the fear lessened over time. That first fateful zombie chase taught me a valuable lesson: always have multiple escape plans and know your enemy so you can survive.
I have read and watched so many horror books and movies that I do not think I would even blink if something happened and I had to go into survival mode.
So my question to you, readers, is: What would you do should a zombie apocalypse actually happen? What would your survival plan be? Please share it with me.
It never hurts to be prepared.
